Nothing happens when I plug in my Computer to the Docking Station

Hello there!

So you're sitting down to your desk, ready to go to grade many papers or throw something onto the TV for the students or get that important last minute email in before you leave for the weekend. You plug in your Chromebook to your docking station and….nothing happens.

First, this is not your fault. You didn't touch something you shouldn't have and you aren't the first one to run into this problem.

Flatly, the the docking stations are beginning to reach the end of their lives here in this district and are starting to act a little finicky. Try these steps below for tips on how to get your docking station working.

1. Make sure the docking station is turned on. On the Targas ones, the bottom right side should be lit up with a dim blue light. If its not, that should tell you that the docking station needs turned on or it has a problem with its power. Make sure its plugged in at the back of the docking station and at the power strip/wall. If it is plugged in but you see no light, please turn it on using the button on the right side on top of the docking station.

2. If the above step didn't work, please unplug the power from the docking station and wait a little bit, about 2 minutes to let the capacitors and memory clear its system before plugging it back in and making sure its turned on after that. It sounds ridiculous, but its like giving it a rest before starting up again.

If the above tips don't resolve the issue, please contact IT and we can come assist at that point.

Thank you,
